Ethical Principles
Ethical practice is deeply important to me. Animal communication requires sensitivity, humility, and responsibility. I approach every session with respect for both the animal and their human, and I am committed to practising in a way that honours the autonomy, wellbeing, and dignity of every being involved.
My work aligns with the principles outlined in Penelope Smith’s Code of Ethics for Animal Communicators (Established 1990). While the original code is extensive, the core values that guide my practice include:
Compassion for all beings and a genuine desire to support understanding between species.
Non-judgement toward both animals and humans, recognising that everyone is doing the best they can with the awareness they have.
Ongoing personal growth and self awareness, understanding that my own emotions and beliefs must be tended to so they do not interfere with communication.
Humility in acknowledging limitations and being willing to seek support from other professionals when needed.
Respect for privacy and confidentiality.
Encouraging empowerment rather than dependence, supporting humans to deepen their own connection with their animals.
Referring clients to veterinarians for diagnosis and treatment of physical illness, and not positioning animal communication as a replacement for medical care.
Working toward balance, understanding, and harmony rather than taking sides or creating division.
At the heart of this code is integrity. I approach each session with care, listening attentively, communicating honestly, and always holding the wellbeing of the animal at the centre of my work. I remain committed to ongoing learning and self reflection so that I can show up present, grounded and embodied in every session
